Fair Wages

At Island Roots, we believe that our staff are the true foundation of our quality programming. Despite the challenges of running a local, small-business, Island Roots believes in paying fair wages.

Seasonal Staff

Although most camps will get waivers from the state so they can pay less than minimum wage, Island Roots does not. Camp staff earn an hourly wage equal to or higher than the Massachusetts minimum wage.

Academic Year Staff

The education and childcare industries are known for paying low wages, even to highly-qualified employees. Island Roots works hard to ensure our staff earn wages higher than market value for their positions.

Employee Discount

We also have a generous staff discount! Island Roots staff receive 50% - 100% off programs for their children enrolled in our programs.
