Elementary-aged children need supervision, yet want exploration, fun, and freedom after school! After School Club provides enrichment in a discovery-based setting. We provide the tools and support for children to enjoy their days while developing lasting relationships.
Afternoons start with snack time, followed by time for play, activities, and homework support (as needed & requested). On-site tutoring with an Island Roots educator or third-party can be arranged on a case-by-case basis.
After School Club Hours: from bus arrival until 6:00pm, school days.
Participants enrolled until 4:30pm are welcome to stay later, when needed, at our extra hours rate.
COMING SOON: Island Roots Bouldering Cave! Participants will have access to our Bouldering Cave, designed specifically with our elementary-aged participants in mind!
Community Lounge: Designed for participants in grades 4-6 who are ready for more independence, our Community Lounge is where it's at! Loosely supervised by our After School Club staff, participants can come and go as they please (with parent permission, of course). Comfy furniture, high-interest games/activities, upper-elementary-appropriate books and homework materials provide a fun space for kids to relax, have fun, and get homework done with the freedom they crave - all with Island Roots staff just outside the door!
We suggest Community Lounge for those who are independent with homework and playtime, and for no more than 2-3 days/week.
Community Lounge Hours: from bus arrival until 5:45pm, school days.
